RHYL CATHOLIC CHURCH

We are a Roman Catholic parish serving Rhyl and Kinmel Bay in the Deanery of St Asaph. We love visitors joining us for our services. Visitors are also very welcome to join us for coffee, tea, cakes and biscuits, following the Sunday morning Mass.

Many people worship here regularly, who are not members of the church. A children’s liturgy takes place on Sunday mornings and there is a monthly children’s Mass. Bibles, prayer books, gifts and devotional items are available in our shop at the back of church following Sunday mass.

Our Lady of the Assumption (St Mary’s) has an active community of parishioners forming various groups within the church, such as the Bethany Group, the Society of St Vincent de Paul, the Knights of St Columba and the Union of Catholic Mothers. Please enquire about membership.

Although it is administratively and financially completely separate and independent, our parish partners the West Rhyl community organisation, 4thecommunity, operates from St Mary’s church and parish centre. Many parishioners are either directors or volunteers in 4thecommunity, West Rhyl’s grass roots community project.

Our parish house also hosts several recovery groups: two Alcoholics Anonymous groups, one Narcotics Anonymous and various groups run by Social Services and Betsi Cadwaladr Hospital, a Craft Group for vulnerable adults, a guitar class for teenagers and two groups for young people. Two Yoga groups operate from parish centre (10am Mon and 6pm Wed) Strict safety provisions are in place for all the above activities.

For further information on the groups please see the relevant page on this website or speak to Fr Nnamah, Martin Hargraves or any group members. View our Parish People page for contact details.
