Our Lady of the Assumption News

The Church teaches that life is to be nurtured from conception to natural death. The theme this year focuses on care at the end of life: The Lord is my Shepherd – Compassion and Hope at the End of Life.

We thank the First Communion Class and their parents for living their faith and bringing their children to Christ truly present in the Eucharist. We also offer our gratitude to the teachers who worked so hard in making our First Communion Mass so joyful and beautiful....

Friday 7th June. 10 am - 3.30 p.m. Cost £20 (include, lunch, tea/ coffees. Please pay to Sheila Johnson on the day. Ministers will meet in the church car park at 9.a.m. and will leave for Noddfa at 9.15 a.m.

The Parish First Holy Communion will be on Sunday, 2nd June at 10.00 a.m.

There will be a meeting of the Parish Pastoral Council on Wed, 19th June at 7.00 pm. 

There will be a Civic Holy Mass in honour of the new Mayor of Rhyl, Cllr. Cheryl Williams, on Sunday, 9th June at 10.00 a.m.

The National Eucharistic Congress  will take place at St Mary’s College, Oscott on Sat. 14th Sept. 2024. Those interested in travelling on the coach should let Mr. Roy know.

There will be no Warm welcome this week because of Bank holiday. Warm Welcome will be back  next Monday, 13th May 9.30-2.30.     Bacon  and Sausage sandwiches will be served after Mass this Sunday and on each first Sunday of the month going forward.  In order for us...

Next Sunday, 12th May, 2024 is Communications Sunday.    There will be a second collection to help the Catholic Bishop’s Conference of England and Wales for the work of Evangelisation.

Life in the Spirit Prayer meeting will be on Wed. 8th May  at 7.00 pm in the social area.  All welcome.

There will be a procession with Flowers during the Holy Masses in honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary throughout the month of May. Please, feel free to donate flowers for the processions.

The National Eucharistic Congress will take place at St Mary’s College, Oscott on Saturday 14th September, 2024. The Diocese of Wrexham intends to organise coach travel for the Eucharistic Congress. Those interested in travelling on this coach should let Mr. Roy know...

The Youth of the Parish will meet  after the Holy Mass next Sunday. Topic for discussion is the forthcoming diocesan Youth day here in Rhyl on Saturday, 29th June.

There annual retreat for the Ministers of the Eucharist and Word will be on Friday, 7th June. Details will follow later.

The Wrexham diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes 2024 will be from 23rd July – 30th July =  7 nights.      Direct return flight from Liverpool to Lourdes.  Airport transfers and assistance between Lourdes Airport and your hotel.  FB: breakfast, lunch & dinner each day....

The Youths of the diocese of Wrexham will gather here in St. Mary’s Church, on Saturday, 29th June at 12.00 noon for a diocesan Youth day and Mass. Bishop Peter Brignall will celebrate the Holy Mass

Day of Prayer for Victims of Abuse, 30th April. Volunteer pilgrims /stewards, would be appreciated daily through the pilgrimage season – Pentecost to 29th September. Potential volunteers should contact the curial office:  (pa@rcdwxm.org.uk).
