The vocations crisis is still very much with us, but our Diocese has one student for priesthood – an extremely fragile situation, and two married men for diaconate service, as below. Please pray for them as they continue their formation.

But is the future not about a more diverse church with a variety of ministries ? Over about 20 years the OMI priests have created a successful experiment on Anglesey. From having about 4 parishes, the Island now has eight communities comprising one parish. All the communities combine to fund Pauline Thomas, a pastoral worker and Stephen Smith, an administrator. They do an excellent job and are supported by the Island Mission team as well as the local communities. You can do an awful lot better together than you can on your own !! Please pray for this experiment as well.
