Cardinal Vincent Nichols and Archb ishop Justin Welby are doing a great job of exploring modern capitalism from the point of view of the Gospel. They know people are aware something is badly wrong. They point out that economics is writing the human script, making us live consumer-driven lives, seeing us as individuals competing with each other, calling all the poor lazy, ignoring the earth, endangering species, failing to address global warming… They point out that its an economics that does not include morality or social justice.
