The Marriage and Family Life Commission are encouraging all parishes in the Diocese to mark Bambinelli Sunday again this year as have so many parishes for the last few years. As you know, it has become a tradition in Rome that each year on Gaudete Sunday (3rd sun in Advent), children (and adults) take their Baby Jesus figures from the crib at their homes to St Peters Square where the Pope will bless both the people and the figurines during the Angelus.Parishes around the world now join in this celebration, encouraging young children to make the connection between the Nativity set at home and the local church where they worship each weekend .A flyer/poster is attached in Word if you need to add a specific Mass time and also attached is the ‘Bambinelli Blessing’ written by Pope Benedict should you wish to use it.
