Parish Golden Jubilee – Feast.
Our Parish Church is marking the 50th anniversary of its dedication next Sunday, August 10th. We will combine the celebration with the Parish feast: Our Lady of Assumption. Bishop Peter will be the chief celebrant for the special occasion.
We need some volunteers to help prepare for the celebration. The various tasks are outlined below. Please help if you are able to.
Event Preparation:
Saturday, 9th Aug. 10.00 a.m. = Cleaning of the Church and tidying of the grounds for the event.
Sunday, 10th Aug.
8.30 a.m. Setting up of Gazebos, Tables and Chairs.
Gazebos/Stalls:
We need Five (5) Gazebos for African food stall, Filipino food stall, Indian Food Stall, mixed European food stall and Drink Stall for Water, Tea, Coffee. (Different nationalities to arrange the Stalls and food by themselves).
Parking attendance:
We need some people to organize the Cars coming in and going out, so as to avoid traffic congestion. N.B. There is also a Carpark in Kinmel Street. Please, try not to disrupt our Neighbours by parking across their driveways.
Sound System:
We need someone to set up and operate the sound system for music and announcements.
After-event:
At the end of the event, we need many helpers to take down the Gazebos, remove tables and chairs and clear away the rubbish and possibly take some home.
